Little
Glitches are a tangle somewhere between folk and a weird acoustic rock. The
Sheffield quartet offer a relaxing yet dramatic insight into the minds of confused
likeminded individuals.
The release itself isn't the ball breaking, gut wrenching power chord epic that
has become the norm in landing on my doormat over recent times. But it is certainly
a chilled, well thought out, well produced twenty minutes of acoustic folk driven
indie as you will come across this year. Maybe not middle of the road, but more
towards the alternative areas of indie that will grow on with every listen.
The best track on the EP is the bands addictive signature tune Mistakes. The
actual rhythm section of the band is very thin, but is made up by the layers
of various loops, percussion and contrasting gentle plucking and light strumming.
Opening track Second Hand Mind is another track taken from their original demo,
which they have added to, to complete the EP. A more powerful directional track
with a thicker feel provided by the acoustic guitar and electronic samples.
A nice touch at the close is the bonus track Little Tweet. A somewhat humorous
western number that brings a very light hearted personal touch to the EP.
Overall, a tidy piece of work from the Glitches. None of the songs are too long
that they border on boring and the energy is significantly high for a folk orientated
style. Its easy to see why there have been kind words of late for the Little
Glitches.

More folksey strumpalong wiv the Little Glitches whom of I never herd. Cor blimey
luv a duck as my Cockney sparrow friend Ivan Strovsky would say. This is rather
terrifyingly ace! Bits of hazy electronic thing crashing psychedelic folka like
the Parsley Sound in places. There only 5 trax on this CD but well worth yr
monkey you a-beta. Proper lovingly! (8/10)
